Boys Basketball

Hinsdale South Tournament

Metea Valley 73, No. 6 Providence 33: Miles Boykin’s 12 points were the most for Providence (9-6) in the fifth-place contest.

No. 5 Schaumburg 50, Minooka 44: Jake Smith chalked up 17 points for Minooka in the seventh-place game.

Kankakee Tournament

Peotone 40, Momence 39: Josh Vincent had 12 points and four rebounds in leading Peotone (8-5) in the small school fifth-place game.

Marseilles Tournament

Gardner-South Wilmington 59, LaMoille 50: Brendan Elens and Kyle Robison scored 16 points apiece for Gardner-South Wilmington (1-12).

Dwight 68, Reed-Custer 61: Blake Huseman contributed 20 points and nine rebounds in pacing Dwight (5-9). Caleb Boma added 19 points for the Trojans and Triston Dircks had 13. Logan Berkland paced Reed-Custer with 12 points.

Medieval Classic

Harper 50, Lincoln-Way West 41: Hayden Witt scored 13 points and Jon Marotta 10 for Lincoln-Way West (1-12) in the seventh-place game.

Plano Tournament

No. 7 Morris 42, Newark 39: Jake Hogan tossed in 13 points in guiding Morris (7-5) to a seventh-place finish. Ben Ortiz and Austin Patterson added 11 points apiece for the Redskins.

Hinckley-Big Rock 53, Seneca 36: Conlan Callahan and Jimmy David each contributed nine points for Seneca (12-2) in the fifth-place game.

Genoa-Kingston 63, No. 10 Wilmington 58: Dan O’Leary (34 points, 10 rebounds) and Nick Anderson (20 points, 10 rebounds) were the standouts for Wilmington (9-6) in the game for 13th place.

Plano 59, Coal City 35: Nick Peters netted 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds as Coal City (5-8) finished 12th.

Pekin Tournament

Evanston 58, Plainfield East 50: Aaron Jordan poured in 14 points and Roger Taiting scored 11 to guide Plainfield East (4-7) in the seventh-place game.

Pontiac Tournament

Bloomington 79, No. 2 Joliet West 78: Morris Dunnigan scored 28 points to lead Joliet West (8-4).

Girls Basketball

Lisle Tournament

No. 6 Coal City 48, Wheaton Academy 24: Emily Halliday’s 22 points led Coal City (13-3) in the fifth-place contest.

Chicago Christian 39, Reed-Custer 32: Caitlyn Welch scored eight points for Reed-Custer (2-12), which finished 14th.

Medieval Classic

No. 10 Lincoln-Way West 46, Plainfield South 33: Brittany Michalski (9 points), Emily Ray (8) and Amanda Hozzian (8) paced Lincoln-Way West (7-7) in the fifth place game. Alexandria Tarrant had 14 for Plainfield South (3-13).

Andrew 66, Lincoln-Way Central 65: Candace Finnin led Lincoln-Way Central (7-7) with 22 points in the third-place game.

Momence Tournament

Wilmington 40, St. Anne 34: Tiffany Nugent scored 17 points to guide Wilmington (5-8) in the consolation championship.

Oswego East Tournament

No. 8 Lemont 43, Joliet Central 37: Courtney Toth’s 14 points boosted Lemont (9-6), which split its four tournament games.

Plainfield Central 71, Addison Trail 45: Alexis Pease recorded 20 points and seven assists to spark Plainfield Central (3-12).

St. Bede Tournament

Eureka 47, No. 9 Seneca 44: Chelsie McCormick and Jacey Lamboley contributed nine points apiece for Seneca (9-9).

T.F. South Tournament

Joliet West 66, Thornridge 36: Aaliyah Stepney and Kailey Foster had nine points apiece for Joliet West (4-8) in the seventh-place game.

Boys Bowling

Glenbard East Invitational: Plainfield North (5,914 series) was second and Plainfield East (5,681) third in the nine-team field. Plainfield North was led by Eric Maybach, who finished third with a 1,242 series over six games. His teammate, Eddie Pacetti (1,241) was fourth, while Plainfield East’s Zach Kendrick (1,233) took fifth.

Blackhawks Charities Holiday Tournament

Glenbrook North 2, Providence 1: Vince Kesic scored for Providence in the championship at the Edge in Bensenville.

Women’s Basketball

St. Xavier Tournament

Huntington (Ind.) 77, St. Francis 65: Katie Gonnering had 23 points for St. Francis in the third-place game.
