Girls Basketball

No. 6 Coal City 50, Dwight 33: Emily Halliday had 17 points to boost visiting Coal City (14-3, 5-1) in the Interstate Eight. Donjeta Shabani aided the cause for the Coalers with 14 points and seven rebounds.

No. 7 Peotone 40, Westmont 27: Brittney Campione and Claire O’Neill had 10 points apiece for host Peotone (13-5, 5-1) in the Interstate Eight.

Stagg 53, No. 9 Lincoln-Way Central 42: Ali Conrad netted 16 points and Casey McMahon scored 13 to guide visiting Stagg (10-3) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Lincoln-Way Central dropped to 7-8.

No. 10 Seneca 52, Manteno 24: Jacey Lamboley and Danielle Hauch each posted 10 points for visiting Seneca (10-9) in the Interstate Eight.

Providence 59, St. Viator 49: Alex Shermulis had 24 points and Alyssa Jurges had 13 for host Providence (6-8, 1-2) in the East Suburban Catholic.

Sandwich 61, Reed-Custer 47: Caitlyn Welch chalked up 18 points and 11 rebounds for host Reed-Custer (2-12, 0-6) in the Interstate Eight.

Boys Bowling

Plainfield Central 3,158, Joliet West 3,069: Bryan Blair rolled a 231 game and a 669 series over three games in leading Plainfield Central at Town & Country Lanes. Chuck Rife added a 223 game and 640 series for the Wildcats. Josh Marshall (226 game) led Joliet West with a 653 series.

Shepard 1,890, Lemont 1,855: Michael Martinez had a 248 game and two-game 450 series to spark Lemont in the South Suburban crossover at Centennial Lanes in Tinley Park.

Girls Bowling

Lemont 1,680, Eisenhower 1,436: Nina Moeller’s 350 series powered Lemont in the South Suburban crossover at Burr Oak Bowl in Blue Island.

Boys Swimming

Sandburg 116.50, Lincoln-Way East 69.50: Brad Dahlman won the 100-yard breaststroke (1 minute, 8.26 seconds) for host Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Wrestling

Lincoln-Way Central 54, Neuqua Valley 12: Joey Nelson (126 pounds) and Robbie Mikenis (138) were among those with pins for host Lincoln-Way Central.

Coal City triangular: Cody Minnick (113) and Casey Brown (126) posted two victories apiece for Coal City, which lost to Sandwich 37-27 and beat Lisle 38-25 in Interstate Eight competition.

Seneca quadrangular: Nick Narine (145) won twice as Wilmington defeated Peotone 58-15 and Seneca 51-12 in the Interstate Eight meet.

Men’s Basketball

Indiana-South Bend 60, St. Francis 58: Andrew Lerg and Billy Hubly each scored 11 points for host St. Francis (10-6, 6-4) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Drury (Mo.) 84, Lewis 59: Kyle Nelson had 13 points for visiting Lewis (6-3, 0-1) in the Great Lakes Valley.

Women’s Basketball

St. Francis 61, Indiana-South Bend 58: Katie Gonnering scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead host St. Francis (8-9, 7-3) in the CCAC. Marissa Draper added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints.

Lewis 78, Drury (Mo.) 55: Labrenthia Murdock had a team-high 17 points for visiting Lewis (8-1) in its Great Lakes Valley opener. Jess Reinhart chipped in 12 points and six rebounds for the Flyers.
