Jalen Heath, of Joliet Central, is the Joliet Herald-News Boys Basketball Player of the Week.
Heath scored a career-high 30 points in Joliet Central’s 55-51 overtime upset of then-top-ranked Bolingbrook. Heath’s two free throws with a minute to go in overtime gave the Steelmen a 51-49 lead. Heath’s efforts helped the Steelmen secure the top spot in the SouthWest Suburban Blue Conference.
