Competitive dance: Joliet West Tiger Paws head to state

The Joliet West Tiger Paws competitive dance team has advanced to the IHSA state competition, which will be held Friday and Saturday in Bloomington. The team will perform at 7 p.m. Friday in the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

A victory send-off march will be held within the school prior to the Tiger Paws departure Friday.

To support the team at the state competition, Joliet West athletics will provide a fan bus for Joliet West students. Permission forms can picked up in the athletic office and are due by noon Thursday. The fan bus will need a minimum of 10 students in order to go to the competition.

If the Tiger Paws, who are in Class 3A, qualify within the top 10 at the competition, they will also perform Saturday.

Other area schools that qualified for state, and their classes and times to perform Friday, are as follows: Peotone (1A, 12:09 p.m.); Plainfield North (3A, 4:40); Morris (2A, 5:05), and Lincoln-Way West (2A, 8:15).
