A senior guard, Fox tore the ACL in her left knee in December and will miss the rest of the season. She was averaging more than 12 points per game for the Steelmen.

How did you tear the ligament?

It was in our last game at our Christmas tournament. I was going to the basket and I heard my knee pop. I was surprised when it happened, but now I’ve got to work, get my surgery and get ready for college.

Do you know where you’re going to school next year?

No, not yet. The one I’m most interested in is Eureka College. It’s a good school, and they want me to play basketball, too. That would be my dream school right now, the one I’m most considering.

What would you like to improve about your game?

My defense, especially my off-ball defense. That would be the big thing I want to work on. I think my on-ball defense is there, but I’m not really good at off-ball.

Is there an opponent you would like to have as a teammate?

It’s not someone I play against, but LeRoyia Campbell, from Oswego East. I played with her before in junior high, and the two of us playing together is a good combination.

Who is your celebrity prom date?

LeBron James. I love him.

You’re on a deserted island and can never run out of one food. What do you pick?

I’ll eat anything. I’m just picky with how it’s made. I’d say tacos.

What will you remember most about Joliet Central?

Probably basketball, my whole basketball career from freshman to senior year. I was injured my freshman year, too, same injury but to my right knee, but it was easier then to come back. It isn’t easy now. I’ve improved from freshman to senior year so that’s what I’ll remember.

As told to Tim O’Brien
