Boys Basketball

No. 4 Joliet Central 47, Lincoln-Way East 31: Jalen Heath scored 17 points and Eddie McElrath added 11 for visiting Joliet Central (11-9, 6-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Isaiah Moss had seven points for Lincoln-Way East (8-10, 2-6).

No. 5 Morris 71, Reed-Custer 63: Ben Ortiz provided 14 points to lift visiting Morris (12-7). Jake Hogan and Austin Patterson added 12 points each for the Redskins.

No. 6 Minooka 57, Romeoville 32: Darrin Myers sank seven three-pointers and finished with 27 points to power visiting Minooka (15-9, 6-3) in the Southwest Prairie. Jimmy Moon had seven points for Romeoville (4-17, 0-8).

Hales Franciscan 55, No. 7 Providence 52: Miles Boykin scored 14 points and hauled in 17 rebounds for visiting Providence (11-11, 4-4) in the Catholic League South.

No. 8 Seneca 55, Marquette 52: Jimmy David had 18 points and Conlan Callahan added 14 to pace visiting Seneca (19-3).

No. 9 Plainfield North 73, Oswego East 67: Trevor Stumpe (19 points) and Marcus Fair (18 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds) starred for visiting Plainfield North (8-12, 5-3) in the Southwest Prairie.

Stagg 65, Lincoln-Way West 46: Max Strus had 16 points to lead host Stagg (15-5, 5-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Lincoln-Way West fell to 1-20, 0-8.

Plainfield South 65, Plainfield Central 49: Miles Snowden had 13 points to pace visiting Plainfield South (6-15, 3-6) in the Southwest Prairie. Corey Evers and Alonzo Garrett added 12 points apiece for the Cougars. Logan Velasquez, of Plainfield Central (7-14, 2-7), led all scorers with 20 points.

Coal City 59, Beecher 45: Nick Peters scored a game-high 19 points for host Coal City (13-9).

Oswego 63, Plainfield East 50: Aaron Jordan’s 12 points were the most for host Plainfield East (8-13, 5-4) in the Southwest Prairie.

Sandburg 46, Lockport 40: Ryan Reed had 10 points to lead host Lockport (5-15, 3-5) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Girls Basketball

No. 1 Romeoville 48, Minooka 31: Abby Smith netted 21 points and Brianna Harris added nine to pace host Romeoville (23-3, 12-0) in the Southwest Prairie.

Sandburg 48, No. 5 Lincoln-Way East 34: Ashley Youngwirth had 14 points and her sister, Sam, added 12 to guide host Sandburg (13-10, 6-5) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Lincoln-Way East dropped to 17-7, 8-3.

No. 6 Coal City 56, Clifton Central 16: Britta Spelde had 10 points and Emily Halliday added nine for visiting Coal City (20-5).

Hillcrest 67, No. 8 Lemont 38: Courtney Toth had 17 points for host Lemont (13-11, 7-4) in the South Suburban Blue.

No. 9 Lincoln-Way West 62, Thornton 44: Stephanie McDonald had 12 points to boost visiting Lincoln-Way West (11-11, 5-5) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Joliet West 70, Joliet Central 40: Aaliyah Stepney’s 11 points and 14 rebounds aided host Joliet West (6-16, 3-8) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Chavon Banks had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Joliet Central (4-21, 0-11).

Lockport 67, Lincoln-Way Central 32: Naomi Mayes had a career-high 21 points for host Lockport (9-12, 4-7) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Lincoln-Way Central is 9-13, 4-7.

Girls Bowling

Lockport 3,542, Minooka 3,389: Minooka’s Emily Koulis led all bowlers with a 222 game and three-game series of 643 at Strike N Spare II. Megan Szczepanski led Lockport with a 219 game and 635 series.

Peotone 2,412, Lincoln-Way East 2,256: Michelle Rybarczyk posted a 224 game and 547 series for Lincoln-Way East.
