A senior forward and team captain, Toth averages 10 points per game for the Indians. She also is on the golf team.
Fun role being a captain?
We have to be able to lead on the court, a game or practice. If people are down, especially in a tough game, I try to pump them up and get them more energetic. I think the younger girls look up to me, and that’s a lot of responsibility. It’s fun, too.
Do you know where you’re going to college? Is there a dream school?
I haven’t decided yet. I would love to play basketball. I might have to stick with the whole school thing. I’d really like to go to Indiana University in Bloomington. I loved it when I went to visit.
Lemont is in the state finals. Who do you want to play?
I would pick Oak Forest because it is such a good rivalry. We lost to them earlier this season and I would love to face them again.
What would you improve about your overall game?
Definitely my inside shooting and just getting under control, scoring under pressure.
Is there an opponent you play you would like to have on your team?
Dana Gettis from Hillcrest. Great sportsmanship and a great player.
Who is your celebrity prom date?
Definitely Channing Tatum.
You’re on a deserted island and can never run out of one food. What do you pick?
My Mom’s Kugelis. It’s a Lithuanian dish that’s really good.
What will you remember most about Lemont?
Basketball is a big part of it and all the teachers are really nice and helpful. The friends I met too. I’m hopefully going to be friends with them for a long time.
As told to Tim O’Brien
