Girls Basketball
Pontiac 54, No. 6 Coal City 36: Nicole Borgetti scored a team-high nine points for visiting Coal City (21-6). Emily Halliday added eight points, four rebounds and four steals for the Coalers, while Donjeta Shabani had seven points and eight rebounds.
No. 9 Lincoln-Way West 62, Thornridge 27: Danielle Morgan tossed in 16 points and Brittany Michalski added 13 for host Lincoln-Way West (12-12, 6-6) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.
Class 2A Wilmington Regional
Reed-Custer 50, Wilmington 48: Allison Willis netted 13 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to spark Reed-Custer (9-16) in quarterfinal play. Caitlyn Welch added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Comets. Wilmington finished 8-17.
Somonauk 45, Dwight 34: Dwight (10-17) was eliminated in the quarterfinal.
Boys Basketball
No. 1 Joliet West 44, Lincoln-Way Central 36: Morris Dunnigan scored 12 points and Carl Terrell added 10 to lift visiting Joliet West (14-6, 7-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Brad Bass and Kevin Mampe contributed 12 points each for Lincoln-Way Central (8-14, 0-10).
