Providence 42, Carmel 32: Alyssa Jurges scored 11 points and Alex Shermulis added nine for visiting Providence (12-16, 2-7) in the East Suburban Catholic.
Class 1A Serena Regional
Serena 48, Gardner-South Wilmington 21: Chelsea Schultz had six points for Gardner-South Wilmington (10-17) in the semifinal.
Men’s Basketball
St. Xavier 68, St. Francis 41: Edvinas Presniakovas scored 12 points to lead host St. Francis (17-10, 13-8) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Billy Hubly added nine points for the Saints.
Joliet Junior College 69, Madison (Wis.) 58: Ben Daniel scored 20 points to pace visiting Joliet Junior College (17-8, 9-0) in Region IV.
Women’s Basketball
St. Francis 57, St. Xavier 55: Melissa Draper (11 points, 7 rebounds) scored on a tip-in with less than one second remaining to propel host St. Francis (12-14, 11-8) in the CCAC. Alexis Brown led the Saints with 14 points, while LaTrece Harris added 10 points and nine rebounds.
