Updated: February 9, 2013 8:53PM

After scoring 12 points in the second quarter, Plainfield North totaled 12 points during the first 83 seconds of the third quarter during a 62-48 home win Friday night over Plainfield East.

During Senior and St. Baldrick’s night, the Tigers nailed three-pointers on four straight possessions to open the third quarter. It paved the way for their sixth straight win.

Plainfield North is 11-12 overall and 9-3 in the Southwest Prairie Conference. Defending champ Plainfield East fell to 10-15, 7-5.

“We’ve made some changes and it’s a different team out there,” North coach Nick DiForti said. “We are sharing the ball, and that’s a big thing with us.”

After 12 lead changes and three ties, North took a 24-22 lead into the intermission. Marcus Fair nailed back-to-back three-pointers before an East timeout 40 seconds into the third. Jake Nowak and Fair hit shots from long range prior to another Bengals time out 43 seconds later. By that time, North led 35-22.

When Trevor Stumpe (20 points) hit a three-pointer with 4:15 to play in the third, the lead was 41-24. Fair (16 points) and Stumpe each scored nine points in the third quarter.

Aaron Jordan and Roger Tating each had 13 points for the Bengals.
