Class 3A Herscher Regional
No. 6 Morris 50, Prairie Central 47: Austin Patterson (13 points) sank a three-pointer from the top of the key as time expired to lift Morris (16-11) in the semifinal.
No. 10 Coal City 50, Pontiac 42: Nick Peters had 17 points to lead Coal City (18-12) in the semifinal. The Coalers also received 16 points from Lane Cowherd and 12 from Brennen Shetina.
Class 3A Peotone Regional
Rich South 56, Peotone 35: Josh Vincent’s 13 points led the way for Peotone (13-13) in the semifinal.
Class 2A Byron Sectional
Newman Central Catholic 45, No. 4 Seneca 27: Alex Bott had a team-best eight points for Seneca (25-5) in semifinal play.
Women’s Basketball
Region IV Tournament
Joliet Junior College 70, Milwaukee Area Tech 39: Brianna Marble scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Joliet Junior College (13-18) in the quarterfinal. Alana Warren (17 points, 8 rebounds) and Falon Edwards (15 points, 7 rebounds) also starred for the Wolves.
