Girls Soccer
Joliet Central 4, Bremen 0: Kathia Arredondo and Jackie Zavala each scored twice for host Joliet Central (2-0).
Boys Volleyball
Marist Invitational: Lincoln-Way East (3-0) won Pool A by topping Marian Catholic 25-3, 25-10 and Elk Grove 25-14, 25-10. Ryan Vorderer led the Griffins in the opening match with 15 kills and 11 digs. Adam Sargis and Austin Overby had 15 kills apiece for Lincoln-Way Central (3-1), which beat Mount Carmel 26-24, 25-16 and lost to Richards 19-25, 25-14, 15-9 in Pool C. Matt Clark tacked on 43 assists for the Knights.
Girls Water Polo
Lincoln-Way East Invitational: Lincoln-Way Central advanced to the championship after defeating Lockport 17-8 and Riverside-Brookfield 16-6. Danijela Jackovich had 13 goals over both matches to lead the Knights.
College Baseball
Lewis 4, Illinois-Springfield 2: Zach Stetson and Mike Barajas hit run-scoring doubles for host Lewis (8-3, 2-1) in the Great Lakes Valley. Tom Helwich (2-1) pitched eight innings for the Flyers, surrendering two runs on five hits.
St. Francis 5, Holy Cross (Ind.) 0: Joe Ruge’s two-run double and Jesse Gregurich’s two-run homer highlighted a four-run outburst in the 10th inning for visiting St. Francis (12-10, 2-0) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Jacob Butler (2-2) gave up one earned run on four hits in pitching a complete game for the Saints.
Joliet Junior College 14, Illinois Valley 0: Luke Andrade’s two-run triple sparked host Joliet Junior College (5-1).
Men’s Volleyball
Lindenwood 25-26-26, Lewis 23-24-24: Eric Fitterer had 20 kills and 10 digs for host Lewis (16-7, 8-2) in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. B.J. Boldog added 39 assists for the Flyers.
