No. 6 Lincoln-Way West 10-8, Peotone 0-5: Connor Hogan (2-for-4) had two runs and two RBI for the host Lincoln-Way West (2-0) in the five-inning opener. Ryan Novak and Mike Zlogar struck out 10 in combining on a three-hitter for the winners. Nick Andrade blasted a three-run triple for the Warriors in Game 2 and Luke Morgan added a two-run double. Joe Dunigan had a two-run single for Peotone.
Herscher 5, Gardner-South Wilmington 0: Cody Harvey went 2-for-3 for host Gardner-South Wilmington (0-2).
No. 8 Peotone 10, Momence 0: Emily Carstens starred on the mound (1-hitter, 11 strikeouts) and at the plate (2-run double, 3 RBI) for visiting Peotone (2-0) in the five-inning game.
Andrew 4, Joliet West 3: Kristine Bourg hit a solo homer and Julia Liceaga tacked on an RBI single to lead visiting Joliet West (2-1) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Joliet Central 17-21, East Aurora 0-0: Kendra Holmgren went 2-for-3 with four RBI in the opener for host Joliet Central (3-0). Autumn Lawson and Miranda Bradbury had RBI for the Steelmen in Game 2.
Lewis 7-7, McKendree 1-6: Drew Buddle scored on Kyle Kapka’s lineout in the bottom of the seventh to give Lewis (12-3, 6-1) both ends of the Great Lakes Valley doubleheader. Kyle Thomas added a two-run homer for the Flyers. Brian Norwood (2-for-3, 3 RBI) hit a two-run homer and Michael Schroeder chipped in a two-run double for Lewis in the nine-inning opener. Tom Helwich (4-1) pitched seven innings for the Flyers, surrendering one earned run on three hits and striking out eight.
Lewis 6, Saint Joseph’s 3: Armand Levandi won at No. 1 singles and also teamed with Erik Aunapuu for a victory at No. 1 doubles for visiting Lewis (4-3, 1-0) in the GLVC.
Lewis 6-0, St. Joseph’s 1-2: Jessica Rourke hit a grand slam and Kelly Bowler (5-3) pitched a complete game for visiting Lewis (8-6, 5-1) in Game 1 of the GLVC twin-bill. Jayme Hefler, Lauren Hanford and Frankie Rys contributed one hit apiece for the Flyers in Game 2.
Judson 3-6, St. Francis 1-2: Lexi Southall homered in the opener and scored on Tori Johnson’s flyout in the second game for visiting St. Francis (11-11, 4-2) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Joliet Junior College 13-9, Harper 5-1: Katelyn Gretz had four RBI over both games for host Joliet Junior College (3-7, 3-1) in Region IV.
Lewis 8, Saint Joseph’s 1: Megan Nguyen and Jill Wetmore notched a victory at No. 2 doubles for visiting Lewis (5-3) in its GLVC season debut.
