Football: Joliet Catholic puts up big numbers in 49-7 win over St. Thomas

Visiting Joliet Catholic picked up where it left off last week against Providence, producing a second straight game of more than 500 yards of total offense. The Hilltoppers (2-0) led 28-0 at the half and had a running clock in the third quarter.
Leading 7-0 in the first quarter, the Hilltoppers were driving toward the end zone but fumbled away the opportunity. On their subsequent possession, QB Nick Morrison hit TE Jordan Jones for a 64-yard touchdown pass to establish momentum once and for all.
Joliet Catholic RB Mike Ivlow followed his 310-yard rushing game against Providence with 203 yards on 12 carries. He scored on runs of 41 and 27 yards and is averaging 17.3 yards per carry.
BY THE NUMBERS
With Ivlow leading the way and Nick Borgra chipping in with 81 yards on six carries, the Hilltoppers rushed for 383 yards to go with 135 passing for 518 total yards. Morrison completed two passes, the touchdown to Jones and a 38-yard TD strike to Zach Rezin. St. Thomas (1-1) totaled 200 yards and did not score until the final play.
