Willowbrook Tournament: Kate Federico dished out 61 assists and Lauren Robeck drilled 16 kills as Plainfield North (8-1) beat West Chicago 25-23, 25-22, Glenbard North 25-16, 25-18 and Coal City 25-18, 25-14.
Joliet Catholic 2, IMSA 1: Panagiotis Zografos and Antonio Acosta netted goals for Joliet Catholic (1-2-1).
Lincoln-Way West 166, Plainfield East 180: Lincoln-Way West’s Sean Knights led all golfers with a 36 at Carillon in Plainfield. John Zeedyk (42) had the best round for Plainfield East.
Boys Cross Country
Seneca Invitational: Plainfield North (105 points) was third and Morris (108) fourth in the 15-team meet. The top runner for Morris was Jacob Wantland (18:12.6), who came in sixth. Robert Thurman (18:34.2) paced Plainfield North with a 13th-place showing. Pontiac (52) won the team title in addition to producing the medalist in Zach Justus (17:06.4).
Girls Cross Country
Seneca Invitational: Catherine Crosson (21:41.3) and Miranda Bakker (22:08.4) finished fifth and eighth, respectively, in helping Plainfield North (65) win the team crown. Caroline Collet (21:52.8) was sixth in leading Seneca (84) to a fourth-place showing in the 11-team event.
Men’s Cross Country
Bradley Open: Sean Smith won the 4-mile race in 19 minutes, 51 seconds as Lewis (18 points) captured first place in the 10-team meet. Andrew McLain (19:54) added a second-place showing for the Flyers, who produced six of the top seven runners.
