Providence 26-25, Lincoln-Way Central 24-21: Annie Cummings and Clare Urchell provided eight kills each for visiting Providence (6-3). The Celtics also received 22 digs from Allie Marthaler and 19 assists from Rachel Alles. Mariel Leibovitz passed out 39 assists for Lincoln-Way Central (3-1). Jackqueline Langer (17 kills, 11 digs, 7 blocks) and Maria Brown (15 kills, 13 digs) aided the cause for the Knights.
Plainfield North 23-25-25, Plainfield Central 25-19-22: Kate Federico finished with 33 assists and Dakota Santore pounded 13 kills to lead host Plainfield North (12-1, 2-0) in the Southwest Prairie. Elizabeth Hyland finished with 15 kills, 12 digs and four blocks for Plainfield Central (3-5, 0-2). Erin Eulitz chipped in 14 kills and 11 digs for the Wildcats.
Minooka 25-25, Plainfield East 18-19: Megan Bauer provided 13 service points and seven assists to propel visiting Minooka (5-4, 1-1). Kelly Clucas tacked on 10 assists for the Indians, while Skyler Day and Ginger Perinar had five kills apiece.
Plainfield South 18-25-25, Romeoville 25-22-14: Brooke Leach had six aces for host Romeoville (1-12, 0-2) in the Southwest Prairie. Gianna Dever added five kills for the Spartans.
Wilmington 25-25, Reed-Custer 22-18: Madeline McDonnell’s 15 assists and Sunny Winkler’s nine kills spurred visiting Wilmington (4-5, 2-0) in the Interstate Eight South. Paige Marquardt compiled nine digs and five kills for Reed-Custer (0-4, 0-2). Brianna Walski chipped in six assists for the Comets.
Coal City 25-25, Lisle 16-17: Britta Spelde posted seven kills and six digs for host Coal City (4-4, 2-0) in the Interstate Eight North.
Grant Park 25-25-25, Gardner-South Wilmington 27-14-18: Sam Schultz notched eight kills and Emily Foley passed out 15 assists to pace host Gardner-South Wilmington (4-1, 1-1) in the River Valley.
Peotone 25-25, Herscher 19-18: Rachel McBride had 11 assists to lead visiting Peotone (3-2, 2-0) in the Interstate Eight South. Anissa Bennett added nine service points for the Blue Devils and Erika Halverson chipped in five kills.
Romeoville 5, Joliet Catholic 0: Victor Rodriguez, Christian Duarte and Christian Koltas netted goals for host Romeoville. Joliet Catholic fell to 1-5-1.
Herscher 7, Reed-Custer 0: Ben Osick made nine saves for host Reed-Custer (2-7, 1-4) in the Interstate Eight.
Lincoln-Way East 6, Providence 1: Alan Hernandez scored twice and Kris Kirchoff added two assists for host Lincoln-Way East (3-2-1).
Plainfield South 3, Bolingbrook 1: Adam Burt scored twice and Eric Fischer once to guide visiting Plainfield South (3-2-1).
Morris 2, Streator 2: Salvador Villanueve and Ricardo Del Toro scored for Morris (4-0-1) in the championship.
Lincoln-Way Central 159, Andrew 183: Kyle Tebelman, of Lincoln-Way Central, led all golfers with a 38 in the SouthWest Suburban Red dual at The Sanctuary.
Dwight co-op quadrangular: Bryce Mortensen and Ryan Folkers each shot 45 to lead Dwight co-op (185), which finished third behind Bishop McNamara (180) and Manteno (181). Bishop McNamara’s Lucas Kinstner (40) was the medalist.
Reed-Custer 182, Peotone 200: Tyler Allen’s meet-best 41 guided Reed-Custer in the Interstate Eight meet at Green Garden.
Rosary 187, Plainfield South 191: Medalist Alex Catalano shot a 41 to lead Plainfield South at Fox Valley in North Aurora.
Lincoln-Way Central 188, Homewood-Flossmoor 220: Co-medalists Clara Scheer and Mary Yonkaitis each shot 44 to pace Lincoln-Way Central in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Coyote Run in Flossmoor.
Stagg 217, Lincoln-Way West 228: Natalie Collina, of Stagg, paced all golfers with a 44 in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at The Sanctuary.
Lemont 3, Oak Lawn 2: Katie Lynch and C.J. Hunter won at No. 2 doubles to aid visiting Lemont in the South Suburban crossover.
Lincoln-Way East 4, Lincoln-Way Central 3: Nina Heidkamp and Jackie Kraut won at No. 2 doubles to ignite visiting Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Sarah Florek and Hannah Richardson won at No. 1 singles for Lincoln-Way Central.
Providence 3, Joliet Catholic 2: Hannah Davis (No. 1 singles) won the deciding match to catapult host Providence in the East Suburban Catholic.
Minooka 5, Romeoville 2: Alyssa Aspan and Lacey Viano won their contest at top-seeded doubles for visiting Minooka in the Southwest Prairie.
Boys Cross Country
Bremen Invitational: Lincoln-Way Central (29 points) won first place in the 12-team meet at Midlothian Meadows thanks to the efforts of Chris Kaminski (17 minutes, 0.8 seconds) and Joey Nelson (17:08), who were third and fifth, respectively, in the 3-mile race. Johnathon Cook (17:04.9) came in fourth to lead Bolingbrook (69), which finished third, one spot behind Shepard (64). The Astros also produced the medalist in Josh Maier (16:23).
Girls Cross Country
Bremen Invitational: Medalist Frida Ramirez (19:54.5) propelled Bolingbrook (29) to first place among the 13 scoring teams at Midlothian Meadows. Katie Hettinger (20:24.6) and Naomi Mitts (20:36.4) were fifth and sixth, respectively, for the Raiders. Lincoln-Way Central (94) took second behind Amanda Baker (20:38), who was seventh.
St. Francis 25-25-25, Calumet (Ind.) 10-22-14: Lauren Wills contributed 13 kills and nine digs for host St. Francis (6-4, 2-0) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Brittany Showalter (18) and Danielle Conrad (17) led the Saints in assists.
