Lincoln-Way East 4, Plainfield South 3: Bryan Dillberg scored twice - including the winner with 47 seconds left in regulation - to propel host Lincoln-Way East (4-2-1).
Lincoln-Way West 2, Joliet West 2: Ian McGrath and Kip Pavlovich provided goals for host Lincoln-Way West (4-2-2). Jesus Gutierrez and Jario Jacobo scored for Joliet West.
Morris 7, LaSalle-Peru 1: Ricardo Del Toro scored 11 seconds into the match in powering Morris (5-0-1) to the championship. Del Toro finished with a hat trick, while Nick Borgstrom added a pair of goals.
Oak Forest Invitational: Providence (353) topped Marist by eight strokes to capture the team title at Green Garden. Marist’s Ashley Kay carded an 82 in securing medalist honors. Immediately behind her were Providence teammates Alyssa Newling (84) and Anna Goggins (86),
Boys Cross Country
First to Finish Invitational: Lincoln-Way Central (252) was fifth in the 45-team field in Class 3A at Peoria’s Detweiller Park. The Knights were led by Chris Kaminski (15 minutes, 9.73 seconds), who finished 12th in the 3-mile race. Lockport’s Will Giroux (15:12.91) was 18th. Steve Sismelich (15:33.44) was 21st in Class 2A for Providence (691), which finished 27th out of 52. Seneca’s Ross McCormick (15:52.31) completed the Class 1A race in ninth position.
Girls Cross Country
First to the Finish Invitational: Lockport (203) finished sixth and Minooka (207) seventh out of 27 teams in Class 3A. Lockport’s Megan Bollinger (18:22.90) was 24th in the race, three spots ahead of Lincoln-Way Central’s J.J. Robinson (18:34.54) and four places better than Minooka’s Caleigh Beverly (18:34.65). In Class 2A, Lemont (265) was fifth in the 51-team field. Claire Gagen (18:52.43) led the Indians with a 28th-place showing. Seneca (450) took 13th in Class 1A, the Irish led by Caroline Collet (19:23.16), who placed 37th.
Reavis Invitational: Plainfield North (61) finished second among the 17 scoring teams. The Tigers’ top runners were Catherine Crosson (19:27.1) and Maggie Kennedy (19:54.2), who were seventh and 10th, respectively.
Men’s Cross Country
Calvin College Invitational: Mike Blaszczyk (24:36) won the 8-kilometer race and teammate Dylan Reyes (24:49) was second as St. Francis (42) secured the team title ahead of runner-up Aquinas College (74).
Northern Kentucky Flight Invitational: Armand Levandi (No. 1), Erik Aunapuu (No. 2) and Mate Srdanovic (No. 2) won singles crowns for Lewis.
Women’s Cross Country
Calvin College Invitational: Hilary Halford (18:13) was seventh in the 5-kilometer contest as St. Francis (101) finished second to Calvin College (40) in the 26-team meet.
Olivet Nazarene Tournament
Spring Arbor 6, St. Francis 0: Amanda Coleman made 10 saves for St. Francis (5-1).
Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational: Leigh Barea totaled 65 assists as Lewis (4-4) defeated Wayne State 25-22, 25-18, 25-27, 25-21 and lost to Minnesota Duluth 25-14, 25-20, 25-10. Morgan Cebula tacked on 20 kills for the Flyers.
