Plainfield East 25-25, Plainfield South 14-19: MacKenzi Welsh had 13 kills and Kelly Grba dished out 13 assists to spark visiting Plainfield East (9-11, 3-5) in the Southwest Prairie. Jordan McNeill had seven digs and five service points for Plainfield South (5-14, 1-7).
Lockport 25-25, Joliet Central 11-19: Lindsey Visvardis had 11 digs and Kayla Pfeiffer had seven kills to lead visiting Lockport (11-7, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. The Porters’ also got five kills from Amber Stefanski.
Bradley 16-26-26, Lincoln-Way Central 25-24-24: Maria Brown had 16 kills and 17 digs to propel host Lincoln-Way Central (14-5, 0-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Mariel Leibovitz added 40 assists for the Knights and Jacqueline Langer had 10 kills.
Providence 25-25, Fenwick 12-13: Clare Urchell had five kills and seven digs for host Providence (15-9, 2-1) in the East Suburban Catholic. Rachel Alles added 10 assists for the Celtics and Allie Marthaler finished with 10 digs.
Lincoln-Way East 25-25, Joliet West 12-19: Macie Lawrence had 12 service points and 14 digs to lift host Lincoln-Way East (8-6, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Jessica Lindsey tacked on 11 kills for the Griffins.
Lemont 25-25, Oak Forest 13-20: Katy Klein and Shae Millinowisch each had six assists for visiting Lemont (21-5, 9-1) in the South Suburban Blue. Cara Howell aided the cause for the Indians with four kills.
Plainfield Central 25-27-25, Oswego East 12-29-15: Elizabeth Hyland had 22 kills and Ashley Shook distributed 10 assists to boost visiting Plainfield Central (11-13, 4-4) in the Southwest Prairie. Erin Eulitz and Addison Taylor tacked on 20 digs apiece for the Wildcats.
Sandburg 25-25, Bolingbrook 23-18: Kelly Finlay notched five kills and five blocks for host Sandburg (15-4) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue opener for both teams.
Lincoln-Way West 25-25, Thornridge 10-11: Michelle Allen had 15 assists for visiting Lincoln-Way West (15-6, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Megan McGuire also starred for the Warriors, racking up four kills and four aces.
Oswego 25-25, Romeoville 13-22: Gianna Dever finished with five kills and Nikki Crowley chipped in five assists for host Romeoville (3-21, 0-8) in the Southwest Prairie.
LaSalle-Peru 25-25, Morris 17-17: Taya Torkelson’s 10 assists and 12 service points led visiting Morris (12-9-1, 2-3) in the Northern Illinois Big 12.
Coal City 25-25, Herscher 17-18: Kassie Aldridge had 20 assists and five digs for host Coal City (12-7). Emily Halliday added eight kills and nine digs for the Coalers.
Beecher 25-20-25, Gardner-South Wilmington 22-25-14: Breann Fisher had eight kills and Emily Foley 14 assists for host Gardner-South Wilmington (11-6, 4-3) in River Valley.
Bolingbrook 2, Stagg 1: Hugo Lopez and Luis Loya scored for visiting Bolingbrook (8-8, 1-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.
Lincoln-Way West 2, Andrew 0: Kip Pavlovich set up goals by Josh Dahlberg and Ian McGrath in leading host Lincoln-Way West (10-3-3, 2-0). Tony Prospero recorded his sixth shutout for the Warriors in the SouthWest Suburban Red.
Nazareth 6, Joliet Catholic 3: Lorenzo Reyes, Jared Olson and Tommy Paige had goals for host Joliet Catholic (2-12-1, 0-4) in the East Suburban Catholic.
El Diablo Tournament
Evergreen Park 2, Reed-Custer 1: Kenny Lebeda had the goal for Reed-Custer (4-13) in the event hosted Peotone.
St. Rita 2, Providence 1: Kevin Sullivan scored for host Providence (3-15).
Interconference Tournament: Squads from the Metro Suburban and South Suburban conferences competed at Coyote Run, where rain limited play to nine holes. Lemont (173) won the team championship behind runner-up Bridget Lynn, who shot an even-par 36 in finishing two strokes behind medalist Sabrina Bonnano of Ridgewood. T.F. South’s Maggie Sloan (37) was third, followed by Lemont’s Emma Houran and Oak Forest’s Jackie Pytko (43 each).
Morris 4, Princeton 1: Leah Lines and Monica Davy won at No. 1 singles for host Morris (9-3).
Girls Cross Country
Larry Roland Invitational: Lockport’s Emmie Hahn (19 minutes, 45.1 seconds) won the 3.06-mile race at Rich East. Joliet West’s Charlotte Youell (20:47.6) was second and Lockport’s Morgan VanKuiken (20:49.5) finished third. Joliet West (52) captured top honors in the 22-team field, ahead of Bloom (114) and Bradley (119). Plainfield Central (127) and Lockport (152) rounded out the top five.
Sandburg 100, Lockport 86: Wins by Kirsten Breitbarth in the 50-yard freestyle (26.83 seconds) and Amanda Moran in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.32) guided host Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.
Troll Classic: Austin Gass and Kevin Kling both posted rounds of 76 in guiding St. Francis (308) to a third-place showing in the nine-team meet hosted by Trinity Christian. Daniel Frantz added a 77 for the Saints at Calumet Country Club in Homewood.
