Lemont 4, Reavis 3 (SO): Keiran Ruane and Teddy Trifunovski contributed goals in regulation for host Lemont (12-8-2, 9-2), which captured the South Suburban crossover by holding a 5-3 edge in the penalty-kick shootout.
Lockport 3, Joliet West 0: Goals by Dan Michalik, Sean McCaffrey and Chris Budz propelled visiting Lockport (15-3-3, 7-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.
Lincoln-Way Central 5, Providence 0: Jacob Lysik contributed a goal and two assists for visiting Lincoln-Way Central (7-9-4). Isaac Hopper recorded the shutout.
Class 2A Nazareth Sectional: Lincoln-Way West’s Sean Knights and Joliet Catholic’s Dyllan Mattea posted rounds of 78 in earning at-large bids to the state tournament. Lincoln-Way West (352) was fifth and Morris (362) ninth in the 12-team tournament at Broken Arrow. Glenbard South (317) secured first place behind medalist Russell Matos (74). St. Francis (326) and Montini (343) also qualified for the state meet.
Class A Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Sectional: Sarah Maddox, of Reed-Custer, grabbed a spot in the state meet after firing an 86 at Railside in Gibson City. Mount Zion’s Ashley Miller (76) was the medalist, while Monticello (389), Mahomet-Seymour (389) and Charleston (392) were the squads advancing to the state tournament.
Class AA Sacred Heart-Griffin Sectional: Minooka (413) finished ninth in the 12-team meet at Piper Glen Golf Course in Springfield. Sacred Heart-Griffin (354) won the team title ahead of fellow state qualifiers Normal U-High (355) and Edwardsville (375). Emilee Slaughter, of Edwardsville, carded a 76 in capturing medalist honors.
NCAA Midwest Regional No. 2: Lewis’ Alex Thode finished the opening round in second place after carding a 70 at Fox Run in Eureka, Mo. Jeremy Fraser added a 78 for the Flyers (306), who were 10th in the 23-team meet.
Eckerd 25-25-25, St. Francis 20-21-23: Danielle Conrad totaled 20 assists, Breanne Shaw had 16 digs and Hayley Wacker added 10 kills to lead visiting St. Francis (19-9).
