Oswego 25-25, Plainfield East 19-14: Kelly Grba dished out nine assist and MacKenzi Welsh spiked six kills to lead host Plainfield East (11-13, 4-6) in the Southwest Prairie.
Marist 25-25, Joliet Catholic 20-14: Mary Murphy recorded eight assists and Julia Shemaitis posted seven digs for host Joliet Catholic (16-12, 3-4). Madeline Grimm added five kills for the Angels in the East Suburban Catholic.
Joliet Central 28-19-25, Stagg 26-25-14: Chavon Banks registered 14 kills and Hana Cromer notched 30 assists to catapult visiting Joliet Central (12-19, 1-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Kelsey Frain added nine kills and 11 digs for the Steelmen.
Plainfield North 25-25, Plainfield South 11-16: Kate Federico passed out 12 assists and Maddie Zyburt had 11 digs to steer visiting Plainfield North (29-3, 10-1). Dakota Santore added seven kills for the Tigers in the Southwest Prairie. Jordan McNeill totaled four kills and five digs for Plainfield North (6-16, 2-9).
Bolingbrook 20-25-25, Lincoln-Way East 25-18-15: Sarah Dobrich (6 kills) and Taylor Nirchi (9 digs) were the standouts for host Lincoln-Way East (15-12, 3-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.
Manteno 25-25, Reed-Custer 7-15: Breanne Walski recorded 10 assists and Vanessa VanDuyne garnered six kills to spur host Reed-Custer (1-20, 0-7) in the Interstate Eight South.
Joliet West 25-20-25, Homewood-Flossmoor 18-25-22: Jess Coleman put up 15 kills and six digs to vault host Joliet West (12-15, 1-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.
Plainfield Central 25-25, Romeoville 12-22: Elizabeth Hyland racked up 10 kills and four digs to pave the way for visiting Plainfield Central (16-12, 7-4) in the Southwest Prairie. Romeoville fell to 3-24, 0-11.
Sandburg 25-25, Lockport 19-22: Lindsey Visvardis collected 14 digs and Kayla Pfeiffer added eight assists for host Lockport (15-11, 3-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.
Coal City 25-25, Sandwich 17-12: Kassie Aldridge had 16 assists and Nicole Borgetti chipped in nine digs and five blocks to lift host Coal City (16-7, 8-0) in the Interstate Eight North.
Minooka 25-25, Oswego East 13-17: Ginger Perinar posted eight kills and Megan Bauer racked up 10 assists to help visiting Minooka (12-6, 8-3) in the Southwest Prairie. Skyler Day (6 kills), Kelly Clucas (7 assists) and Natalie Yard (7 digs) also starred for the Indians.
Wilmington 25-25, Peotone 23-19: Madeline McDowell provided 18 assists and five digs for visiting Wilmington (14-16, 7-1) in the Interstate Eight South. Sunny Winkler led the Wildcats in kills with nine.
Morris 21-25-25, Rochelle 25-19-7: Kaylin Korte drilled nine kills and Taya Torkelson set up 32 assists to spur visiting Morris (17-12-1, 4-3) in the Northern Illinois Big 12 East. The Redskins’ output also included eight kills from JoAnna Nowicki.
Minooka 2, Plainfield South 1: Goals by Matt Dlugopolski and Mauro Medina propelled host Minooka (10-6-2) in the Southwest Prairie.
Girls Swimming & Diving
Lemont 89, Oak Forest 82: Bridget Doherty prevailed in the 50-yard freestyle (28.31 seconds) and 500 freestyle (6 minutes, 17.55 seconds) to spark visiting Lemont in the South Suburban Blue. Annette Lesnicki added wins in the 100 butterfly (1:04.35) and 200 free (2:15.08) for the Indians.
NCAA Midwest Regional No. 2: Alex Thode carded a 73 to finish with a two-day stroke total of 143, good for third place in Eureka, Mo. The Flyers (607) tied for sixth in the 23-team meet won by Malone (575) at Fox Run Golf Course.
