College Football: St. Francis at Siena Heights (Mich.)

St. Francis preview: For the fourth time this year, St. Francis will face a team for the first time. The Saints are 4-1 on the road this year and will return home for the final two games of the season. ... “They are a big physical group that runs the football real well,” coach Joe Curry said of Siena Heights. “They are going to be right there at the end.” St. Francis and QB E.J. White might be up against the best passing defense they will see all season. White is second in the nation on total offense (3,011 yards) and third in passing yards (2,581). ... WR Troy Torrence is fifth in receiving yards (842) and eighth in catches (50). ... The Saints defense is sixth in the nation opposition third-down efficiency (28.6 percent) and sixth in the country in sacks with 24. ... DE Jeff Cascella ranks fifth with 161/2 tackles for a loss and 10th with 71/2 sacks. ... St. Francis could finish the season with one road loss for just the second time since 1990.
Siena Heights preview: The Saints to the north are just 1-3 at home this year heading into their final home game of the year. ... Siena Heights has two shutouts this year and is eighth in the nation in pass defense efficiency (100.6) and scoring defense per game (16.8). ... DB DeShawn Gilbert’s four interceptions leads the team and is 12th in the NAIA. ... The Saints have allowed just seven passing touchdowns this year and 5.2 yards per pass. ... Offensively, QB Matt King is ninth in the nation in pass efficiency (151.1), while TE Donovan Campbell is fourth in the country with 52 receptions through eight games. ... Coach Jim Lyall compiled a 103-92-1 record in 20 years at NCAA Division III Adrian prior to taking over at Siena Heights last year.
