Girls Basketball
Lincoln-Way West 48, Stagg 39: Mandy Hozzian contributed 17 points for host Lincoln-Way West (4-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Red opener for both teams.
Homewood-Flossmoor 58, Joliet West 56: Khadija Cooley totaled 19 points and eight assists for host Joliet West (1-4) in its SouthWest Suburban Blue opener. Vicky Orasco tacked on 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers.
Seneca 47, Dwight 25: Coley Baker had 13 points and five rebounds to aid host Seneca (6-3, 4-1) in the Interstate Eight. Lexi Brown added 11 points for the Irish. Kiley Colebank scored nine points for Dwight (2-6, 1-3).
Joliet Catholic 56, Nazareth 35: Shannon Butler provided 11 points for host Joliet Catholic (3-4, 1-0) in the East Suburban Catholic.
Herscher 47, Reed-Custer 42: Caitlyn Welch finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for visiting Reed-Custer (1-6, 0-4) in the Interstate Eight. Ashley Welch added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Comets.
Peotone 50, Westmont 43: Caitlin Cann (5 rebounds, 5 assists) and Brittney Campione scored 14 points apiece to lift host Peotone (10-1, 4-0) in the Interstate Eight.
Gardner-South Wilmington 49, Grant Park 27: Kailyn Schultz had 18 points, 13 rebounds and six steals for Gardner-South Wilmington (4-5, 2-2) in the River Valley.
Women’s Basketball
Moraine Valley 70, Joliet Junior College 61: Celestra Warren had 19 points and 10 rebounds for visiting Joliet Junior College (4-5). Shay Jenkins added 15 points for the Wolves.

Evergreen Park 51, Lemont 50: Juozas Balciunas, of visiting Lemont (6-1, 2-1), led all scorers with 18 points in the South Suburban crossover.
Wrestling
Plainfield Central 38, Oswego East 25: Ryan Holzrichter (138 pounds) and Jordan Ellingwood (195) won by fall for host Plainfield Central in the Southwest Prairie.
Minooka 49, Oswego 15: Dan Ruettiger (120), Corbett Oughton (145), Chris Hiscock (160) and Josh Pullara (182) had pins for Minooka in the Southwest Prairie.
Lincoln-Way East 55, Marian Catholic 21: Lincoln-Way East prevailed in Chicago Heights.
Boys Swimming
Joliet Township co-op 88, Kankakee 82: Tyler Wooten won the 50-yard freestyle (23.55 seconds) and 100 butterfly (1 minute, 9.55 seconds) to lead host Joliet Township co-op.
Lincoln-Way East 98, Lincoln-Way North 89: Andy Graymont won the 100 free and 100 breaststroke for host Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban Red.
Boys Bowling
Joliet West 2,235, Joliet Central 1,790: Mike Layfield had a 279 game and two-game series of 536 for Joliet West in the SouthWest Suburban Blue meet at Town & Country Lanes.
Lincoln-Way West 1,898, Lincoln-Way North 1,890: Lincoln-Way West’s Mike Baio posted a 243 game and 424 series in the SouthWest Suburban Red dual at Laraway Lanes.
Girls Bowling
Lincoln-Way East 1,514, Stagg 1,472: Michelle Rybarczyk (168 game) and Sarah Schmidt (325 series) sparked Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Palos Lanes in Palos Hills.
Sandburg 1,772, Lincoln-Way West 1,748: Morgan Flaherty posted a 214 game for Lincoln-Way West in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Laraway Lanes.
Lockport 1,966, Lincoln-Way North 1,651: Bri Zabierek’s 407 series propelled Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Tinley Park Bowl.
Joliet West 1,870, Andrew 1,739: Julianne Kowalski, of Joliet West, finished with a meet-best 431 series in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Orland Bowl.
Plainfield North 2,947, Plainfield South 2,750: Plainfield North’s Taylor Wilmoth had a 234 game and 678 series over three games in the Southwest Prairie meet at Brunswick Zone XL in Romeoville. Shannin Jacobazzi notched a 246 game and 648 series for Plainfield South.
