Boys Basketball
No. 3 Joliet West 56, Lincoln-Way East 34: Host Joliet West (5-2, 1-1) prevailed in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Lincoln-Way East fell to 4-3, 0-2.
No. 4 Minooka 58, Plainfield South 55: Visiting Minooka (5-1, 2-0) was a winner in the Southwest Prairie. Edvinas Presniakovas poured in 28 points for Plainfield South (4-4, 2-1).
Dwight 40, Coal City 35: Troy Hogan finished with 14 points to spark visiting Dwight (5-2, 1-1) in the Interstate Eight. Matt Halloran had a game-best 17 points for Coal City (1-6, 1-2). Nick Peters added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Coalers.
Nazareth 58, Joliet Catholic 30: Ryan Peter netted 13 points for visiting Joliet Catholic (3-4) in its East Suburban Catholic opener.
Seneca 74, Sandwich 46: Conlan Callahan scored 18 and Peyton Schrag added 12 to pace host Seneca (6-1, 3-0) in the Interstate Eight.
Providence 64, Bishop McNamara 48: Mike Marietti’s 23 points showed the way for host Providence (4-2, 1-1) in the Catholic League South. Brian Oddo added 17 points for the Celtics.
Bradley 53, Lincoln-Way West 51: Gino Manzella had 15 points and nine rebounds for visiting Lincoln-Way West (1-7, 0-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.
Beecher 55, Gardner-South Wilmington 46: Kwynn Rury netted a team-high 11 points for visiting Gardner-South Wilmington (2-5, 1-2) in the River Valley.
Wilmington 49, Lisle 47: Dan O’Leary scored 20 points to give visiting Wilmington (3-4, 1-2) its first win in the Interstate Eight.
Girls Basketball
No. 3 Romeoville 74, Plainfield North 54: Kiera Currie (13 rebounds) and Angelica Osusky scored 17 points apiece for host Romeoville (7-0, 3-0) in the Southwest Prairie. Abby Smith chipped in 13 points and eight assists for the Spartans. Carlie Corrigan had a game-high 19 points for Plainfield North (1-7, 0-3).
No. 5 Plainfield East 61, No. 4 Plainfield Central 39: Faith Suggs scored 20 points and Chantise Adams netted 11 to guide visiting Plainfield East (7-3, 2-1) in the Southwest Prairie. Plainfield Central fell to 6-3, 1-3.
Lemont 46, Evergreen Park 22: Courtney Toth tossed in 15 points to pace host Lemont (3-6, 2-1) in the South Suburban crossover.
Minooka 46, Plainfield South 17: Larissa McLemen and Sara Placher scored eight points apiece for host Minooka (3-6, 2-2) in the Southwest Prairie.
Wrestling
Lincoln-Way Central 58, Joliet Central 9: Robbie Mikenis (130 pounds) and Logan Doyle (145) were among those notching pins for host Lincoln-Way Central in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.
Lincoln-Way West triangular: Will Hubbard (145) was one of six wrestlers for Lincoln-Way West to win twice as the Warriors topped O’Fallon 39-18 and Bradley 27-23.
